About Me

The Woman

Canyon Chambers

Technical Writer

I have been writing since I could form words on paper—stories and lists and meandering
expositions on any number of topics. That love for words became a Bachelor of Science in English from the United States Air Force Academy. As an officer, I learned that I contributed the most effectively as an idea consolidator, a problem solver, an editor, a product builder, and overall, as a listener. I found the most satisfaction in helping my airmen communicate their needs and ideas effectively.

When I made the transition to civilian work, I immediately started with a customer who needed not only to develop new position descriptions for a future contract, but a new system of accountability and standardization for their documents. I worked with an excellent team to meet and exceed needs, releasing a comprehensive contract to the industry, and providing the customer with the means to successfully track, standardize, and regularly review their numerous documents.

While my skills as a technical writer grow with every experience, I have learned that effective teamwork, active listening, earnest feedback and open communication are the keys to success when it comes to technical writing.

Technical Writing

Technical Writing not only helps customers craft their messages to their desired end. Truly impactful tecnical writing means truly hearing translating a customer’s most essential communication needs into an attractive, effective, accessible product with purpose and vision.

That kind of result requires regular communication, bridge-building with subject matter experts, iterative production, and, most importantly, constant and eager learning.
